Okura Mental Health Leadership Foundation is seeking promising young Asian Pacific American leaders for a one-week leadership seminar in Washington, DC. The "Week in Washington" for 2001 is scheduled for April 28-May 4, 2001 and includes all expenses (transportation, lodging and meals). Any person of Asian Pacific American ethnicity engaged in the fields of social work, psychology, psychiatry, nursing, mental health, substance abuse, health and human services, and related fields is eligible. NYC Teaching Fellows is a highly selective program that is mobilizing talented professionals and recent graduates to teach in the city�s most under-performing schools.�The strategy of the Fellowship is to create a network of dynamic professionals determined to build effective classrooms where every student achieves. Previous coursework in education or teaching experience is not required. The two-year Fellowship includes a regular teaching salary, intensive training, on-going support, and an accelerated, fully paid Master's Degree program.
