Immediate Release: 11/4/2014
Today is the day - Election Day!
[Miami, Florida – 11/4/2014]
Today, Your Vote is Our Voice! Every Vote Counts.
Our community members in Central East – Orlando, Central West – Manatee, Northeast - Jacksonville, South – Miami and Fort Lauderdale have been tirelessly calling hundreds of registered Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) voters every day to make sure they vote in the midterm elections today.
If you haven't already voted, don't forget that Election Day is TODAY, 11/4/2014.
The polls are open from 7am to 7pm, and you can find your polling location here in Florida.
Please make sure all your friends and family have voted, too.
So much hangs in the balance today. The future of our state, the right of patients to get access to the medicine they need, our environment and the courts…
Immigrant votes matter. By voting, our community can make sure that we elect leaders who listen to our concerns on issues that matter to us, like fixing our broken immigration system.
"There are many people who have been separated from their children and siblings. If we want to be reunited with our families, we must all vote on November 4. Please vote so that we can achieve immigration reform one day," says Evelyn Bruce, Executive Director of NANAY CEDC.
Can you invite your friends and family to join us for the final #GOTV push in your neighborhood?
"By participating in the election, we can uplift the voices of our Asian American community and help increase our community's political influence,” says Winnie Tang, President of Asian American Federation of Florida.
“Every vote counts. I hope that by voting in this election, we can make a better community and make America a better place to live," says Victor Swaroop, President of Florida Chapter, Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).
Will you vote for our community on November 4?
Remind all of your friends and family to vote Tuesday. If you haven't voted yet, you can find your polling location here in Florida.
